I've been going to Joe B's since the early 70's. The bread sticks are awesome, as are the pizzas, and pastas, but I most always try a different pizza. Atmosphere is casual in a converted church. Expect a wait in the evenings, especially on weekends, but always has been worth it. College students and families alike go here. The bar area is not the main attraction, small, used mainly for waiting! Prices reasonable.

Pizza for the ages

Now that my daughter is a student at UK I have a good reason to return to an old favorite. As good, if not better, than it was twenty years ago Joe B's is hands down the best pizza in Lexington. There is no place better before a sporting event at Rupp. The other entrees more than carry their own.

This restaurant is living off of its reputation it received in the early '70's when its pizza was much better and a whole lot thicker. Joe B's pizza today is just a shadow of its former self and would not win many blind taste tests with the national pizza chains. This is in no way the best pizza in Lexington!

Joe Bologna's is probably the best pizza in town. However, their pizza is so good, one often forgets their other great dishes. Try a salad, some lazagna, or one of their great grinders as well. They've been around for ages, and with good reason.

Great Food

This is the best pizza place in Lexington. They do a lot of good Italian as well. Great place for either lunch or dinner. They have individual sized pizza's at dinner and special lunch pizza's as well. The breadsticks are very good -- order the breadstick with the marinara sauce (skip the butter sauce). The only possible problem is that sometimes it is a little loud -- generally I don't find this to be a problem though. At peak times it is very busy and there might be a wait.

Quick service when you get in. Crowd dictates wait after that. Great environment with TV's and a bar. Pizzas are excellent. They do carry-out too!

Joe B's is world famous for its pizza; I have brought several of my friends from all over to eat there. The rest of the menu is great also. The staff seems to enjoy working there and now it's completely smoke-free (a gamble in a tobacco state). The current location is interesting in that the building had been a church and a synagogue in the past. I think the wide-screen TV is near where the Torah had been.
