Meh...

by 9524tee at Citysearch

Food: Decent...

Drinks: Decent...

Upstairs patio/deck: Pretty awesome...

Service: Decent...

Drink prices:... Decent...

Nothing impressive at all really but it's a good place to get smashed and not care about acting a fool I guess.

I go because it's convenient but I don't normally stay long.

Cheapside Bar & Grill

by BigAlan at Citysearch

Cheapside Bar & Grill (131 Cheapside) is a downtown Lexington bar and restaurant. It's more relaxed and quiet than some of the neighboring bar & grills. It's an attractive, expansive place inside. The food, drink, and service qualities are reasonable. Pricing is sensible and the staffers are friendly. Cheapside noise and crowding doesn't go to extremes. There is an elevated outdoor deck that offers a view of part of downtown. The average crowd is a little older than what you find at other nearby bar & grills. Drinking hours are Monday through Friday, 11:30 am to 2:30 am, and Saturday - Sunday 11 am to 2:30 am.

  • Pros: relaxed atmosphere
  • Cons: visibility

Great Place to Catch Live Music!

by rockinrockster at Citysearch

I've read the other reviews, and obviously they should be going to applebees or fridays. There they'll find all of the consumerist comforts Wal-mart has taught them to expect. Cheapside is an excellent establishment. They bring in some of the greatest bands in town, and they're drinks are great. Space is a bit limited, but that problem is quickly solved in warmer weather. They have heaters on the patio, and unless your a comlete prince or princess you should be plenty comfortable during most of the year. They use real seasoning in their food so there's actual flavor. Which sets it leaps above other "more-easily-accessible" establishments. Cheapside is a great place. Its my personal preference, if I'm looking for tunage on most any night of the week. I say if you're a music lover give it a chance. You won't be dissapointed.

  • Pros: Music, Atmosphere, Location
  • Cons: Space

Not for Kids!

by carolann1913 at Citysearch

My husband and I went there with a group of friends and a couple of kids. The place wasn't set up for large parties nor children. The drinks sucked and the food wasn't spectacular. My time and money would have been better spent at Applebees!

  • Cons: Parking, Lack of Seating, Not Kid Friendly

This is THE place to be!

by jacq2519 at Citysearch

Cheapsides is THE place to see and be seen in Lexington! The bar inside offers a cozy atmosphere and the bands are terrific. And when the band begins a-rockin'- (especially August Christopher!) - get ready to party! Or you can choose to dine in the glass-enclosed restaurant or head outside to the two bars located on the patio or the balcony - which overlooks the Cheapside crowd and city. There is so much to offer in downtown Lexington - and Cheapsides is a perfect spot to either begin or finish a night on the town.

Cheap, yeah. Good, no.

Cheapside Bar and Grill in Lexington, Ky. is a pretentious dining and drinking dive for the stuck-up snob wannabe in all of us. Their food is decent, which is more than I can say for their staff, especially the bartenders. Never did I see any of them smile. They never said thank you, or acted like they cared if you spent your money there. The stage is very small, and getting comfortable in Cheapside means going outside and standing on the street. Don't spend your money at Cheapside Bar and Grill in Lexington, Ky.

  • Pros: generally no cover, worth it
  • Cons: staff is rude, takes too long, overpriced
