I'm a service technician with over 40 years experience. Saw a service request from Bobby Jones Electronics on a contract for hire web site. They wanted me to change the color engine in a Mitsubishi TV. I entered a counter offer since I live in Holly Springs and the TV was in Tupelo and $53 was below my cost. The initially refused but getting no takers they came back as agreed to pay $100. I went to Tupelo only to find the home closed and no one there. I asked for an additional $24 and they agreed. I made a second trip. Called their support line and disassemble the TV installing the color engine. When I called back for reassembly I got no answer. Left Tupelo agreeing to return the next day. When I went back and called support about routing cables I was told to pack up go home. Three trips Holly Springs to Tupelo and they refuse to pay me after they called off the service call after I was there. I'll never take another call from them. I'm going to call an attorney to see what my options are.
Bobby Jones Electronics is the most disorganized company I have ever worked with.
They farm out their warranty and onsite work to other organizations and are terrible at keeping in contact and documenting what they do.
We are one of the firms that worked with them and will NEVER do this again.
They have defaulted on paying their bills for over 6 months after jobs have been completed to 100% satisfaction.
They also do not explain everything to the customer and do not send all required parts for the initial visit. We had to re-visit a customer and use parts off of old equipment on new because wires and other parts were missing.
Stay away from these people. They do not talk to each other in the office, They only have email and instant messaging. I have tried for months to get in touch with the customer service manager Ben Malkin after our initial talks and he disappeared and nobody knows where he is and they say he is the only one that can assist me. What kind of organization does not have verbal communication with employees and also drops the ball when a person is not available…. Especially for months at a time when there is a billing issue.
Customer and Technicians BEWARE…. Stay away from Bobby Jones Electronics for any service.
Their BBB rating is also an “F” and they have many complaints about them.
Dont do any contracting for this company, they wont pay you!
Run away, run away fast... – Unfortunately I cannot give Bobby Jones Electronics negative ratings.
This has got to be the most unprofessional, unable, incompetent, poorly managed excuse for a business I've ever encountered.
After dealing with them for months, my TV still remains unrepaired. I gave up. I demanded Mitsubishi contract with another company... even if it takes longer, I don't want these people to receive any money for the massive lack of support and inability to get anything done.
I never once got to speak to a manager regarding my ongoing issues. The tech that received the part never returned a single call, never showed up, nothing.
Reading the experiences on here - matches exactly what to expect. I commented about the reviews to the representatives, and they replied with "Yah that was older stuff..." well let me tell ya, it hasn't changed.
One rep was extremely rude, to the point where we were yelling at him. He very forcefully insisted we would get a call from the tech that day. Were we surprised when we didn't? Nope. Were we surprised we never got a hold of that idiot again? Again... nope.
There were a couple of nice gals that we got to know on a first name basis. I'm sure they tried, but they too have to deal with the broken down piece of crap company that is called Bobby Jones Electronics.
Our service was SO bad, I went out of my way to recommend Mitsubishi cancel their contract with Bobby Jones because it's making them look bad.
We logged everything, every unreturned call, every missed promise, every date that came and went... but really - what's the point? They suck.
You here the words "Bobby Jones", run. Run away fast.
Poor Excuse for a Business – If your warranty company tells you that you will be working with Bobby Jones, beg them for a buy-out and point them to this website, and to the B.Brating. Expect that you will get scheduled and that no one will show up, then they will say it was a breakdown, or something went wrong in their system, or that the printer didn't print the work order, or anything to convince you that it will be different the next time. After they have rescheduled you three or more times then you might get lucky enuff to see an actual person show up that is drunk, smells like stale booze and cigarettes, and looks like they been wearing the same clothes for about a week. At this point, if you are brave enough to let him touch your tv then you will be fooling with them for 3 more months of excuses as to why they do not have your parts. Then when they finally do show up to install the part you get to hear about how the company sends them out all over the country and bounces their payroll checks and now the company owes them a ton of money and the owner is a liar, and that the company can't even order half the parts needed to do repairs because the owner is not paying his bills. Then you find out that the reason it took so long to get the part is that they had to wait until another order came in for the same television on a different contract because they didn't have the money to get yours. Then you find out that it's not the only one, there are nearly a hundred more in the home office that have been sitting there for months that haven't even been touched for that very same reason! Why hasn't this place been shut down? This is the biggest excuse for a business that I have ever heard of in my life!!!! Please, if your warranty even so much as mentions this company...GET AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN!!!
WOW What a Bunch of Liars and other words that are – I wished I would have checked them out prior to Lowes using them for a warranty repair item for me. Google Bobby Jones Electronics and see what you get. Terrible Service and a dryer that is lying on the floor apart and them not showing up again for the 6th time. They will not survive. Contacted Lowes and they will surely not use them anymore either. The names they give you are the same person and they must be surviving by warranty money from the larger companys. Well Lowes knows now so BJE get a real job.
Unbelievable way to do business! – My husband's Onkyo receiver is under warranty and, rather than pay shipping to send it for repair, we decided to make the 2-hour drive to Lexington to drop it off at Bobby Jones Electronics, which is our nearest Onkyo authorized service center. I called the business yesterday and spoke to a woman who confirmed their Saturday hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and their address. I told her that we had a warranty repair to bring in and would be there around 10 this morning. We arrived at the store a few minutes before 10, and were greeted by locked doors. While we waited a few minutes to see if anyone would show up, another customer arrived and tried knocking on the door. I called the store number and reached the answering message stating that Saturday store hours were 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We left the shopping center and came back about 45 minutes later...door still locked. I tried to call again and got the answering message again. After just reading the reviews for Bobby Jones & Son TV, I am not surprised. I am just really glad we hadn't already left the receiver with them. If we had driven to pick it up and found the doors locked, I would have been really upset. At least all we are out is the gas to drive down there, and the wasted Saturday morning. Pitiful way to do business!
