best chinese in lexington....
...or, for that matter, most other places in kentucky. great food, friendly proprietors-this place might be my favorite restaurant in the state. the thing you HAVE TO DO WHEN YOU GO THERE is to get the authentic Chinese menu (the regular one is just fine, but the Chinese menu is really where the good, exotic stuff's at.)
best dishes there: kung pao tofu, cold pork ear.
go on the weekends--that's when the authentic chinese buffet is, (it changes on their calendar from saturday to sunday.)
pros: one of the best restaurants in lexington, esp. if you like unusual food
cons: the reviewer above me is right. so-so atmosphere, and the location is awful.

As real a Chinese Restaurant as you'd find in NYC. After having lived & eaten terrific Chinese food (particularly Sichuan cuisine) in both San Francisco & New York City, it's always a pleasure to come back to Panda Garden. Make sure you get the "Chinese Menu" and have the staff steer you toward the unfamiliar. Order anything you don't recognize that sounds good, you can't go too wrong here. Spicy tofu & fish, pork & bamboo shoots, Panda's spicy beef, stir-fried potatoes ,green beans... Appetizers: garlic pork, jellyfish, drunken chicken, ginger green beans, spicy beef tendon... Go with a big group to try more dishes. Or check out the authentic Saturday lunch buffet for a great introduction. Makes me hungry just writing this.
easily the best chinese in Lexington. The Panda Garden has the best chinese in Lexington, by far. The daily lunch buffet really doesn't do the food justice, so I suggest ordering off the menu. The Yu Shiang (spicy garlic) chicken is especially tasty.
