De Sha's-Not recommended--$$$ for low quality food and service. First and last meal at De Sha's. Service was below average. Food was not of the quality I expect for the prices they are charging. Hot Brown was cold when received and had to send it back. Quick turn around on new Hot Brown but wasn't that good. I was highly disappointed in this restaurant. Meal for two with drinks cost $75 and we could have had better food at lower prices at almost any restaurant in Lexington. The 5 oz filet mignon that my wife ordered was not of high quality either. Probably one of the worst steaks I've tasted for $22. I won't be back.
Not bad. We came for Sunday brunch but the brunch menu was just a small insert in the main menu of only about 5 dishes so most of us just ordered off the regular menu. The fried green tomatoes were good. The house cornbread wasn't bad, but not great. The decor is nice, with red tin ceilings. Service was fine. It was more casual than I had anticipated but not bad overall.
Service Questionable. The food was o.k., but the service SUCKED. I spent my time watching the bartender sitting at a table chatting with her friends. I had to tap her on the shoulder to indicat that I needed a glass of water. This is without question one of the worst service experiences of my life. This isn't the first time with DeSha's!!!! Once I had my brother, his wife, and my children at DeSha's for a late dinner, and I had the SAME EXPERIENCE. It was past 10:00p when the waiter decided to stop chatting with a girl (he was sitting with) at a table and hunt up our food. The service is the worst I have seen in a world of travels, and DeSha's should be ashamed.
Good food, bad service. deSha's is a good restaurant, especially for downtown business lunches. It's also well set up to serve large groups. They have a very good menu, and the food is usually very good. They have had some service problems lately - I think right now they are understaffed, esp. for the lunch crowds. But I don't remember service being quite so bad (i.e. slow, too few waiters for all the tables) a year ago. If you go at a slightly off time, the service is better but still not great. But I would say the food is worth it, and the set-up of the restaurant is interesting.
