Hurst Music is it lousy book keeping or scam?. I bought a trumpet from them in 2008 set up a payment plan and then I bought a flute in 2010 also on a payment plan paying all along no hiccups. Or so I thought. Then my child comes home and says you need to call HURST, they took my flute today. She says that she was told to have her mommy call and if things get taken care of maybe she could have it back next week.

So I call only to find out that They say I haven't paid since September of 2011, 8 months, WHAT??? They say they have called and left several messages, They had the correct phone number, Yet I hadn't gotten a single one. They say they had sent notices in the mail.

So I figure I will pay it off and be done with it. They tell me that my son's trumpet isn't even paid for. WHAT??? It takes 4 years to pay off a trumpet, was it a "Stradivarius" I think not it was the least expensive, since I am a single mother TRYING to raise 5 children and provide some enrichment to their lives.

So guess what they are gonna charge me late fees for the eight months and it is still gonna cost me almost $500 to pay of two instruments that I have been paying on for almost 4 years.

My question was Why Could You Not Send A Note With My Child? Their Answer Was,"We ASSUMED that you would notice when you looked at your bank statement. I work 50+ hours a week and have 5 kids, balancing a check book is not a priority in my house. As long as I have money in there to pay my bills and I don't see any bogus fees or charges I don't get excited. I don't notice what is not there. SORRY!!!!!

Major billing problems. This place was nice, we rented an instrument for my child. Then I started receiving all kinds of notices in the mail that I hadn't paid with extra fees. The letters indicated they had been calling which they had not. Then I checked the account tied to the automated payment and there was plenty of money in there. Other parents have mentioned the same thing happening to them.
