Get Something Else. I had hunan deliver vegetable lo mein, wonton soup, and an egg roll. It was absolutely disgusting. It had zero flavor, I even tried to put the lo mein back on the stove and add some soy sauce or something to make it taste better. the egg roll had no flavor either. I think it's pretty hard to mess up an egg roll. and I wouldn't even try the wonton soup due to the weird odor. Basically just go somewhere else. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY!

Hunan: More Than a Laxative. Have you or a loved one ever considered eating at Hunan? If you wish to spite them or are a masochist, then by all means, go.

Our Diet Cokes were flat and the sweet and sour sauce that was dropped off at our table had little more than a tablespoon left in it. When we brought it to our waiter's attention, he seemed surprised as though it were the perfect amount for three hungry men. The Sprite he brought out to replace our Diet Cokes wasn't much better. Come to find out, they pour their drinks from 2-liter bottles. It was clear then that our Coke had been opened for several days before it reached our glasses, which we distracted ourselves from by reading the Zodiac sign chart sitting underneath the table's glass top.

The orange kwachik looked like some chicken doughnuts covered in Burger King sweet and sour sauce. Did we have it our way? We did not. Our way would have been to get up and leave without paying, preferably before even sitting down-- the best way they could have served us would have been with a warning as we walked through the front door: "Glad to see you, but you are making a horrible mistake. It is for the best. Your tastebuds, stomach, and rectum will thank you."

But we did leave with a smile. On the wall near the exit was a plaque congratulating Hunan for being the best Chinese restaurant in 1992. The last eighteen years were clearly downhill, considering that plaque hung alone on the wall, next to a drawing of a red-inked dragon. He, like the plaque, looked dusty and aged, a sign clear enough to all who exit, but would serve a greater purpose at the entrance.

The Best Chinese in Lexington and Louisville!!!!!. I first started working at the finest Chinese Restaurant in 1982. Oriental Inn was the name and was a fine establishment with fine food and great people running the business.

I remember first hearing about the new Chinese Restaurant on Southland Drive, in the early 1980?s, which many claimed to be better than my place of employment in Patchen Village. I have to say I was not happy when Oriental Inn went out of business a few years later and I do miss the fine people I worked with, but the bottom line is Hunan's is the best Chinese Restaurant in Lexington or Louisville. The food is always freshly prepared.

If you have only been dining at the many Chinese Buffet lines lately chances are you have forgotten what Great Chinese food is supposed to taste like. One thing is for sure though; after you eat at Hunan's you will not enjoy the large Buffet many other Asian establishments offer around the States. Hunan's Sunday only Buffet may seem small compared to their competition, however after you compare the two I am sure you will eat at Hunan every chance you get.

Great American Chinese. Hunan has been in busness for more than 25 years, and for good reson. The service is friendly and efficient, the prices are reasonable, and the food is fantastic! I reccomend the Hot and Sour Soup and the General Tso's Chicken.
