Will never go back. Food: Only decent. Very salty and soup is very plain.

Service: Poor, bad attitude. Hostess was not friendly at all, and servers repeatedly brought us wrong appetirzer we ordered. we asked for a manager, but no manager was on duty. Our chef was asking for tips!!

Ambience: Decent. Not for a romantic date.

It was a Sunday night, and it was not busy at all.

Will never go back

Great Time!!!!. Reading the last review is hilarious!!!! I loved the place. Had a good time, and the cook has to get your order right because he is right in front of you. I have to admit, it is hard to catch the shrimp when it is tossed, but i sure did'nt see anyone get "shrimplash" from it. C'mon man - grow up.

Avoid. I just wanted to let you know that I had one of the worst dining experiences in recent memory when my girlfriend and I this establishment on Friday February 1. I would have decided to dine elsewhere had I anticipated the sort of night that we were going to have.

The chef, a young Chinese man, started out the evening by squirting what I thought was water, since the couple beside us was clearly under 21, into our mouths. When I opened my mouth, however, I found out that the bottle contained alcohol. I take medication that reacts negatively with alcohol and as I tried to avoid ingesting any more, was soaked while he continued to squeeze the bottle, also getting alcohol in my eyes, which burned quite badly may I add.

Later in the meal, as my girlfriend was watching another party, the chef tossed a piece of onion at her while not looking, hitting her in the eye. Later on, when the chef was tossing food for everyone to catch in her mouth, she was pelted three more times in the head while the chef flung three pieces of shrimp at her head in rapid succession.

In addition, he also forgot half of her order, as well as forgetting half of the order of a lady beside us. When the sushi came out, the people in the back placed the table?s orders on one plate, causing everyone at the table to have to figure out for ourselves what was what.

I have been to several Japanese restaurants and this is, by far, the worst I have ever been to. For $45, I would expect better treatment than to be soaked with alcohol, pelted with food, and having parts of our order forgotten. I tell any of my friends to stay away from this establishment in an effort that they not have to undergo the same experiences that we went through.

After our experience, I wrote a letter to the manager of the restaurant, but have yet to hear any word back.

Great Hibachi. My first time at Hibachi...very cool! We ate there last night. The food was excellent! However, the service could have been a tad better. Not that service was bad...just that I didn't understand the waitress very well (Japanese with broken English), & she didn't understand me well. There were only 2 in our party, so we were seated at a bar with 2 other couples of 2 (6 people total). The waitress got our order right, but she messed up some of the others more than once. The chef was really great...food was cooked perfectly, great taste, nice atmosphere. Expensive compared to places like Applebees or O'Charleys - total bill for the 2 of us was $59.00, but the food tasted much better than those places. If you want privacy, though, you better go somewhere else.

Not So Much!. I don't really recommend Miyako if your going for the regular dining. The Hibachi and Sushi might be alright but I probably will not be back to find out. I got the Filet Mignon Teriyaki. I asked for Medium, they gave me rare. My wife got the Shrimp Tempura and Udon soup. I hope you like mushrooms. I will say the house dressing was better than I have had other places. We actually went to McDonalds a few hours later and wished we had gone there to begin with!

Better, much better. In the very competitive arena of Japanese Steak Houses in Lexington Miyako has come light-years. Housed in the old Pizzeria Uno location it has updated its inside decor with warm earth-tones and the requisite black lacquer trim. A great place for group dining at modest prices. Excellent sushi. If you haven't been in a while you really must give it a try.
