Exceptional Service, Friendly Staff.
I am always in support of local businesses. I would rather pay a little more to rent from local than to go to the impersonal red box or now the new Blockbuster box.
I have had some problems with DVD's not playing, but the staff always allows another copy for no additional charge. I have always found the staff to be helpful in my selections and shall continue to support this business.
Kudos to the owner and staff!
absurd staff behavior.
Totally absurd confrontation with aggressive clerk who accused me of returning the wrong tape in the case. Said our account was cancelled. I was surprised and wanted to understand situation- tried to reason with him, but he was so angry- threatened to call police on my family (husband and 7 yr old son) because we were "troublemakers". Absurd. Why would we steal their stupid tape? It wasn't even an accident- it was a tape I'd never seen before- - someone else had obviously had it or switched it out. I even offered to pay for it, but he told me that it was "too late to make up for it". Had a yelling match in the store in front of about 20 people.
I'll Nextflix next time.
Has almost any movie you could want!. This place is really awesome! Everyone is very helpful and they always have what I'm looking for. I only wish it was open a little later, but other than that it is pretty much the ideal movie rental place.
Great Movie Store: Best Value in Lexington.
I've been renting from them for my entire time at UK (4 years) and have always found the workers helpful, a good selection of movies, and of course those rock bottom prices (.50 for a 1-day video rental, $1 for a 1-day DVD rental).
You do have to show a credit card the first time you rent there, which they keep on file, but they don't charge your card for just a few late days. This is a little joint, but it has character. Highly recommended.
Worst Service in Town! Use the internet to rent instead of here!!. I figured I would give my money to a local business instead of an internet business. BAD idea on my part this time! I rented a DVD movie that was damaged and would not play all the way through. Upon returneing the five movies I rented the previous day, I was made to feel like a liar and no credit or money was offered/returned o me.
